Who we are and what we do
Starting in 2012 as the Trees on the River Uck (TrUck), it became the Sussex Flow Initiative in 2014, a partnership between the Woodland Trust, Sussex Wildlife Trust and the Environment Agency, with funding support from Lewes District Council.
Working with landowners, local people and others to investigate, promote and create natural features designed to slow and store water in the landscape and to help reduce flood peaks. The Sussex Flow Initiative aims to deliver multiple benefits for people and wildlife, as well as to show how Natural Flood Management (NFM) can be used to support traditional flood management methods to help reduce flooding.
